MondaySunday Recap: Easter 2012

Last week's message recap...
Brian shared some awesome things that Jesus said about himself.  He did a great job communicating these awesome truths about Jesus, our Lord and Savior.  God forgives, gives grace upon grace, and gives us a hope and a future...thank you Jesus.

Easter Sunday: It's All About Jesus.

1. Jesus came down from heaven.
For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. John 6:38
2. Jesus is sinless.
And he who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to him. John 8:29
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 4:15
3. Jesus said He was God.
I and the Father are one. The Jews picked up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you going to stone me?” The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.”          John 10:30-33
4. Jesus said He could forgive sin.
And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts, “Why does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” Mark 2:5-7
5. Jesus said He was the only way to be saved.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.  John 14:6
6. Jesus invites all to be saved.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.  John 3:16
7. Jesus died...and He died for you.
After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), “I thirst.” A jar full of sour wine stood there, so they put a sponge full of the sour wine on a hyssop branch and held it to his mouth. When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.John 19:28-30
8. Jesus claimed He would rise from the dead...and He did!
And as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside, and on the way he said to them,“See, we are going up to Jerusalem. And the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death and deliver him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified, and he will be raised on the third day.”Matthew 20:17-19
